Notes to the poems

The first 2 poems, Dunnottar and Callanish weere written when Tif was 15 years old. His brother Robert who was 10 years older also wrote poetry. Tif would find his poetry notebooks when he was not at home. They induced in him a deep alertness, and so he began to write his own.

When poems come , he tries to catch them quickly , for they easily fade and disappear.

Some of the poems are from his thesis submitted to the MA in Creative Writing at University of Limerick.

The poem, Memory was was published in The Irish Times on Saturday,  January 18,  2020.
