Kilpatrick's work addresses themes referencing the cultural influences of his childhood growing up in India with his current home in Scotland. 

He utilises a number of media, including henna, spices, marble dust and incense as well as ceramic, photography and film as he explores the influence of the artisan and themes of migration.
